As the proverb goes, "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy." On 2 July 2025, Guires colleagues from across departments headed to a local turf in Chennai for "Sporting Encounters", an energising evening of badminton and cricket and part of our ongoing commitment to wellbeing, flexibility and a collaborative culture.
Held after working hours, the outing was more than a recreational break. It was a deliberate investment in our people: strengthening team dynamics, celebrating diversity and building bonds between departments. The women of Guires showed agility and focus on the badminton court, while the men took to cricket, both in the true spirit of sportsmanship.
Colleagues were grouped into mixed departmental teams, breaking the silos of daily routine and encouraging connections beyond job titles. The scorecard mattered less than the collective energy, cooperation and encouragement, and the evening was full of skilful play, spontaneous cheers and new friendships.
The event was envisioned and supported by our CEO, Dr Radhika Ganesan, and Chairman, Mr Ganesan A., who have consistently championed employee wellbeing and leadership development. Their vision of a workplace where people thrive professionally and feel valued personally came alive on the turf.

What stood out most was the emergence of hidden leadership, especially among new joiners, who showed natural coordination, strategy and encouragement. These displays of agility, collaboration, resilience and empathy reflect the qualities that make our teams dependable partners for clients around the world.
Between thrilling rallies and tense overs, everyone stayed refreshed with cool drinks and healthy snacks. The evening ended with animated conversations and shared laughter. It had done more than offer a physical break: it recharged minds, built trust and reinforced our people-first philosophy.
